Pre-Conference Research Consultaion & Training Sessions I, II, & III - April 14th & 15th


The 2010 Ethnic Ministries Summit pre-conference training has been expanded this year to include three sessions that present both national and local, street level examples of research activity and learning regarding ethnic communities and church development. Presenters include: the Billy Graham Center, the Emmanuel Gospel Center, and Agape Partners, International.   


Session I (Wed 1:00-5:00pm) Neighborhood Discovery
Have you ever wondered who lives in your neighborhood in terms of its ethnic and racial diversity?  This session will focus on the People Groups National Database Project www.peoplegroups.org and will be presented by representatives of the Billy Graham Center.  This complimentary training will help attendees to identify different ethnic groups in their communities - who is serving among them and what ministry resources are available.


Session II (Wed 5:15-9:00pm) Urban Ministry Tour
Introduction to the city of Boston and the Quiet Revival including dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Tour of selected neighborhoods and churches
  • Dinner at local restaurants

    Session III (Thurs 9:00-12:00pm) Around the Corner and Around the World
    This session will focus on researching ethnic and urban church trends in a city and region to better understand, nurture, and celebrate what God is doing.  The Emmanuel Gospel Center and Agape Partners, International will share from a variety of Boston and New England based Applied Research Projects which have engaged hundreds of ethnically diverse Metro Boston churches to work collaboratively towards a practical and systemic understanding of the church in the context of their city and beyond.

    Pre-Conference Sessions I, II, and III are limited to 40 attendees.  Please note your interest on summit registration form.  There is no registration fee, but attendees will be asked to make a donation towards transportation costs and to pay for the cost of their own dinner in Session II.
